Korean Business Registration Number

10-digit unique ID issued by the National Tax Service to Korean businesses; foundational for all B2B transactions and tax invoicing.

Definition

The Korean business registration number is the unique ID the National Tax Service assigns to each business. Required for tax invoices, transaction statements, and all national tax filings.

Format

"XXX-XX-XXXXX" (10 digits) - First 3: tax office - Middle 2: entity type (individual 01–79, corporate 80–99) - Last 5: sequence + validation

Issuance

- Sole proprietors: tax office visit or Hometax online - Corporations: auto-generated after registration - 3–7 days

Usage

- Tax invoice issuance/receipt - Cash receipts - Business-to-business contracts - Banking, PG signup - Public pages (Legal, mail-order disclosure)

Practical tips

- You can verify other businesses' numbers via Hometax - Numbers can't be changed (you re-register after closing to get a new one) - Crewtool's Legal page must display it
